Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Screening
Posted on:
Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening is a free test available for men aged 65 and over.
The NHS invites all men for this screening in the year they turn 65 – if you are a man aged over 65 and have not been screened you can contact your local service to arrange a test.
AAA screening is a way of checking if there is a bulge or swelling in your aorta, which is the main blood vessel which runs from your heart down through your stomach.
