Keep Antibiotics Working

Posted on:

Antibiotics are used to treat or prevent some types of bacterial infection, but they do not work for everything.

When it comes to antibiotics, always follow your doctor’s advice on whether you need them or not. Taking antibiotics when you do not need them can mean they will not work for you in the future.

Overuse of antibiotics has meant they have become less effective and has led to the rise of antibiotic resistant superbugs. This will lead to more deaths and more complications for people receiving treatment. Over three million surgical operations and cancer treatments a year could become life threatening if antibiotics no longer work.
