Dr Feraz Irfan

Dr Feraz Irfan is the Senior Partner at the Aylmer Lodge Cookley Partnership. He has has been a Partner at the practice since 2005. He has an interest in stroke prevention and leads the practice anticoagulation service. He is married with 4 children. He divides his free time between his family and Stourbridge Cricket Club where he continues to play league cricket.
Dr Joanna Jenkins
MB ChB Leeds 1996 MRCGP DFFP DRCOG DTM&H
Dr Jo Jenkins is a Partner at the practice. Dr Jenkins is the practice lead for women’s and sexual health including coil fitting and contraceptive implants and works on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. When not at work she enjoys cycling and hill walking.
Dr Adam Cole
MB ChB Birmingham 2001 MRCGP MRCS
Dr Adam Cole is a Partner at the practice. His main interests include ENT, minor surgery and respiratory medicine. He is an avid supporter of Liverpool football club and has been known to follow them around Europe on their travels.
Dr Gurjeet Singh
MB ChB Sheffield 2004 MSc MRCGP
Dr Gurjeet Singh is a Partner at the practice with a special interest in orthopaedics, sports medicine, and musculoskeletal problems. He is involved in teaching medical students and continues to provide advice and support to Kidderminster Harriers football club.
Dr James Rayner

Dr James Rayner is a Partner at the practice. He has a particular interest in medical imaging, cardiovascular medicine and men’s health. He is the practice GP lead for diabetes care. He is married with 3 children and spends most of his time with the 4 women in his life. He enjoys tennis and most other sports given the chance.
Dr Sharon Thomas
BSc (Hons) MBBS London 1995 MRCGP DFFP
Dr Sharon Thomas joined the practice as a salaried GP in 2007, having been a GP Registrar with us previously. Dr Thomas works at Aylmer Lodge Surgery on Tuesday mornings, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Friday mornings. She has a specialist interest in dermatology, women’s health and joint injections.
Dr Sophie Lord
BMedSci BMBS MRCGP Nottingham 2009
Dr Sophie Lord joined the practice as a salaried GP in 2017. Dr Lord has a special interest in women’s and sexual health, including fitting coils and ring pessaries. She also works as a GP in A&E. Her working days are Wednesday At Cookley and Thursday and Friday mornings at Aylmer Lodge. Outside of medicine Dr Lord is a keen sports woman and enjoys running half marathons, swimming and playing netball.
Dr Katy Francis
BSc (Hons) MBChB Leicester 2015 DRCOG MRCGP.
Dr Francis joined the practice in January 2023 after having been a GP registrar with us since 2018. She works on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday mornings, and has an interest in women and child’s health. She is the palliative care lead for the practice. Outside of work, Dr Francis enjoys hill walking, photography and crocheting.

Reception
Our Reception Team are now fully trained Health Care Navigators. This means that they are qualified to advise you on the type of appointment that you need. Sometimes, you don’t need to be seen at the Practice and you may be referred to a local pharmacy or a Minor Injuries Unit instead. They will ask you a few questions about the reason for your appointment request to ascertain which option is best for you.

Dispensary
We have a dispensing branch at Cookley where we can dispense your medication for you if you live more than 1 mile from a community pharmacy. This includes all patients that live in Cookley and some patients that live outside Cookley. The dispenser will tell you if we can dispense to you.

District Nursing Team
The District Nursing Team is no longer based at the Practice. A team of community nurses and assistants, governed by a Team Leader, to work with those patients who are unable to visit the surgery, for example the chronically sick or post-operative patients.

Community Midwives
Community Midwives can be contacted via the Maternity Hub on 01562 512376.
Health Visitors
These senior nurses have special skills in health care and are particularly involved with children under 5 years of age and expectant Mothers. If your child is under 5 years old and you need advice on issues such as feeding, behaviour or constipation.

Macmillan Nurses
Sister Ruth Mayall has specialist training in the care of the terminally ill patients and works closely with the District Nursing team and the GP.
